The Class of 2025 experienced their first official gathering at Paroquet Springs Conference Centre during the Kindergarten Kickoff hosted by the Bullitt County Family Resource Centers.
Bullitt County’s public elementary schools were represented by principals, Kindergarten teachers and other staff members, introducing themselves to the new students and their families.
The Family Resource Centers host the annual event as a way to ease the transition for both students and parents. The students will show up on the first day of school seeing familiar faces rather than strangers.
Entertainment was provided by Steve-O the Magician. Hillview Family Dentistry offered free screenings.
Also in attendance were local businesses and organizations supplying helpful information for parents, including Bullitt County Health Department; Bullitt County Partners in Prevention; Bullitt County Pediatrics; Bullitt County Public Library; Bullitt County YMCA; Community Partners for Learning; Drive Smart Kentucky - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet; Mooney Eye Care; Norton Healthcare; Ocean Dental; Passport Health Plan.
Bullitt County Public Schools also featured representatives from various departments including Attendance/Pupil Personnel, District Nurse, Food Service, Preschool and Transportation.
BCPS Family Resource Centers were established at individual elementary schools to help students succeed in a variety of ways, assisting in academic achievement, physical and mental well-being and family training. Each school’s FRC program includes a coordinator and an advisory committee of teachers, parents and community members.
