KSP vehicle enforcement begins concentrated watch on traffic laws

The Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement will be kicking off a two week TACT Blitz throughout the Commonwealth.

TACT (Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks) is a federal grant that the Commonwealth has utilized for the past few years to help put more officers on the roadways to enforce traffic laws.

By doing so the number of accidents and fatalities has lowered since the grant has been used.

During this two week period, officers will be focusing more time on interstates and highways that have been identified as a high crash corridor.

In these areas officers will be watching for moving violations in commercial vehicles and/or other vehicles in close proximity.

Violations include, speeding, following too close, erratic lane change, DUI, and reckless/careless driving.

KSP is asking motorist to do their part by watching their speed and being alert when operating around a larger commercial vehicle.

KSP is also asking motorist to report all violation by calling the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555.

Callers will remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel and license number if possible.
