SHEPHERDSVILLE - Girls’ golf is not normally a fast-moving sport, but a high school tournament doesn’t normally take six days.

That was the case with the 2013 Bullitt Cup after lightening halted play on a Tuesday at Heritage Hill Golf Course. Play did not resume until last Monday with the Bullitt East Lady Chargers retaining the traveling trophy that is sponsored by Schmid Funeral Home.

Bullitt East with the minimum of four golfers, won the event with a 197 total. Bullitt Central and North Bullitt tied for the runner-up spot at 271.

The low medalist was Bullitt East senior Olivia Pruitt who fired a 45. The Lady Chargers also had a 49 from Haley Steinmetz along with a 50 by Erica Hall and a 53 by Abbie Thomas.

Bullitt Central was led by Natalie Stopher with a 64 while both Emily McKnight and Breanna Richardson finished at 65. Taylor Boston had the fourth score, a 77.

North Bullitt got a pair of 67s from Alanie Bauer and Madi Zachary while Sarah Norris finished with a 68 and Katie Jenkins a 69.

Also playing for North Bullitt were Haley Vittitow and Tiffany Quiggins.
