CEDAR GROVE - The final outcome was known before the first tee shot was taken, but it was still sweet for the Bullitt East Lady Chargers to retain the Bullitt Cup.

In fact, Bullitt East has won each of the previous Bullitt Cups which is awarded to the top girls’ golf team in the county. The awards were presented by Schmid Funeral Home administrators Mark Schmid and Tim Gonterman.

Bullitt East finished with the only complete team score with a 204. North Bullitt with a little scoring magic was at 232. Because Bullitt Central had no players compete on Tuesday, Meade County was invited to play and finished with a 244.

The surprise came in the individual competition as Bullitt East sophomore Olivia Pruitt won that award with a 47.

Bullitt East has four seniors in the main rotation along with Pruitt and this was the first time this season that the sophomore had beaten the seniors.

The Lady Chargers also had a 49 by McKenzie Perdew along with a 53 from Kendra Grant. The other two seniors, Maggie Smith and Emily Mingue each had a 54.

North Bullitt had a 49 by Darien Webb and a 61 by Amber Brown.
