Lady Eagles too hot for Lady Vikings

-A A +A

HEBRON ESTATES - After not playing for nearly a week because of the snow, the North Bullitt Lady Eagles got back into action on a positive note on Monday as they rolled past visiting Valley 63-30.

The win was the third this season for the Lady Eagles and the first since before the holiday season began.

This one was over early as North Bullitt extended its 3-2 zone to pressure the Lady Vikings into numerous turnovers that led to easy baskets. The Lady Eagles jumped on top 18-1 in the first quarter and never looked back. The green and gold pushed the margin to 33-10 by halftime and pushed the margin over 30 points midway through the third quarter.

Valley is perhaps the worst public school team in Jefferson County, having failed to win any of its 13 games this season. In fact, Valley had just four girls score in this game.

North Bullitt had ten different girls score led by the 12 points of senior Meri Brian. Sixth-grader Katie Downing collected eight points.

The game was the first of a busy week for the Lady Eagles. They will return to action on Friday at Bullitt Central where they will take on the Lady Cougars at 6 p.m. They will return to Shepherdsville the next day to compete in the Girls’ Bullitt County Challenge as they will take on Meade County at 4 p.m.
