On Sunday, July 15, Mrs. Shirley Lakes presented her 31st annual piano recital at the First Baptist Church in Shepherdsville. A variety of music was performed: classical, religious, contemporary religious, popular, Broadway, country, movie themes, swing, and ragtime.

Those performing this year included: Tatum St. Clair, Sydney Forman, Daniel K. Bandy, Bailey Hobbs, Hannah Wilbert, Regan Goomey, Kelsin Kemble, Rachel Hasty, Nicholas Kinser, Mattie Philpot, Kayley Strange, Elizabeth Diaz, Riley Delk, Lena Kaziska, John Marsolek, Caroline McCrorey, Anna Kaziska, Rich Higgs, and Rachel McCrorey.

Caroline and Rachel McCrorey played a variety of songs before the recital. Mrs. Lisa Sharp, Regan’s grandmother, sang as Regan performed, “Alleluia/He is Lord.”

“I’m so thrilled watching each student’s performance. I really feel blessed to see students develop in their ability throughout the year and enjoy playing,” said Lakes.

Each student was presented a rose, an ice cream coupon from McDonald’s, and a picture of their performance.
