MOUNT WASHINGTON – A late addition to the schedule didn’t prove to be a problem for the Bullitt East Chargers as the state’s third-ranked team rolled past visiting Covington Holy Cross 77-55.
The game was added to the schedule just two days earlier after a game the previous Friday against Collins had to be cancelled because of bad weather. Unable to reschedule Collins, Bullitt East head coach Troy Barr saw on-line that Holy Cross was looking for a game.
Quickly, the game was set and with a little financial incentive from Bullitt East, the game was played in Mount Washington.
Bullitt East trailed 11-6 after the first quarter, but then took control of the game with a 26-8 surge in the second quarter.
Rusty Troutman paced Bullitt East with 26 points and freshman guard Tyler Sharpe came off the bench and drained five three-pointers for his 15 points. Derek Willis tossed in 14 points.
