SHEPHERDSVILLE – A total of seven local players were named to the All-Sixth Region Girls’ Soccer Team that was recently announced by the area coaches.

On the first team of 11 players, the coaches selected Bullitt East senior Meghan Roby along with Lady Charger junior Alnee Tutson and freshman Christian Foster. Joining that first group was North Bullitt senior Taylor Johnson.

Also earning first team honors were four players from Sixth Region champion Mercy -- Cayla Metzmeier, Jacqueline Schmitt, Julia Hodge and goalie Elizabeth Singer. The other first-team members were Butler Sarah Cornett and Pleasure Ridge Park players Paige Snepp and Kelaiah Clark.

On the second team, Bullitt East, the regional runner-up the past two seasons, was represented by sophomores Layne Cutler and Kacie Heichelbech. North Bullitt junior Rachel Badgett was also on that team.

Rounding out the second-team was Butler goalie Elizabeth Baker-Noren and Kayla Coleman along with Fern Creek’s Kelsie Huffman, Mercy’s Sierra Hoagland, Mariah Geisen and Rachel McGarry along with Madison Wrenn and Hannah Watson of Pleasure Ridge Park.

Roby All-State

For the second year in a row, Roby earned All-State honorable mention honors after leading Bullitt East to a 17-8 record. After starting the season as a forward, Roby switched to defense after the first two games saw Bullitt East give up seven goals.

Roby was the only senior starter for Bullitt East this past season.
