Major roads to be part of rural highway improvements

 SHEPHERDSVILLE — State officials plan on making over $1.1 million in road improvements during the upcoming fiscal year thanks to a program that takes care of more rural highways in Kentucky.

Bullitt Fiscal Court unanimously supported a plan delivered by Fifth District Kentucky Transportation Cabinet chief engineer Matt Bullock on Tuesday.

Under funds provided through the Rural Secondary Road program, the state plans to resurface five heavily-traveled roadways over the next year.
