HILLVIEW - A Bullitt County man is in jail after being charged with rape and sodomy against a teenage girl.

Jeremy M. Frank, 28, of northern Bullitt County, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with first-degree rape and sodomy.

He is being held in the Bullitt County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash bond.

According to Det. Scotty McGaha of the Bullitt County Sheriff's Department, a 15-year-old girl was babysitting for Frank's children in November and December 2008.

On two occasions, the victim alleged that Frank raped and sodomized her.

However, because he allegedly threatened to kill her if she reported the incident and it caused him to lose his wife or children, she didn't say anything.

McGaha said the story was that the accused would come home from work and the two incidents occurred.

On the first time, McGaha said the victim was knocked to the floor and suffered a bloody nose.

Law enforcement officials were finally notified by the girl's mother.

"She noticed that her daughter just wasn't herself," said McGaha.

The girl had become withdrawn and was having troubles with school, both of which were out of character.

McGaha said these are typical signs that there is something wrong with a child or young adult.

When notified, McGaha said the investigation was started.

On Wednesday, McGaha and deputy Dale Elliott went to the Melody Lane home, originally told that Frank wasn't home. But they found him hiding inside the home. He was taken into custody without incident.

During his apprehension, he denied the allegations and McGaha said he also denied any wrongdoing during his interview.

The charges are Class A felonies punishable by 20 years to life in prison.
