SHEPHERDSVILLE - A local man is currently in jail and his case has been sent to the Bullitt County Grand Jury.
Bullitt District Judge Rebecca Ward sent the charge of sexual abuse in the first degree against Brian C. Montgomery to the grand jury.
According to Det. Scotty McGaha of the Bullitt County Sheriff's Department, a call for an investigation was made on June 4. At that time, Montgomery was taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
During his interview with McGaha, the detective said Montgomery demanded that he take a polygraph test and a DNA test.
The allegation was that Montgomery improperly touched a 3-year-old in the neighborhood.
The alleged victim was interviewed.
McGaha said a polygraph test was conducted and Montgomery failed. He was charged on June 25 with sexual abuse.
Ward sent the case to the grand jury for possible indictment. Montgomery remains in the Bullitt County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond. If released, he must have no contact with any child under the age of 16 years old.
