SHEPHERDSVILLE - A Mount Washington man was arrested Wednesday for threatening a local judge.

Terry Glen Hayes, 49, was taken into custody by Bullitt County sheriffs after allegedly making threats to kill District Judge Rebecca Ward.

Det. Scotty McGaha said Hayes was at an automotive repair business in Mount Washington at 10:30 Wednesday morning when he told an employee he hated Ward because of a pending court order issued against him. The employee said in a statement that Hayes mentioned he would get a gun and shoot the judge.

Hayes was later located and arrested at the Nina Mooney Courthouse Annex around 11:15. McGaha said Hayes did not appear to have any weapons at the time. He was charged with retaliating against a participant in a legal process, a Class D felony.
