BROOKS - A northern Bullitt County has been indicted for sexual misconduct with a minor girl.

According to the indictment, Daniel Ray Keith of Brooks has been charged with first degree rape and sodomy, both Class A felonies punishable by 20 years to life in prison.

He is also facing Class B felonies on second-degree rape and sodomy charges. These are punishable by 10-20 years in prison.

Det. Scotty McGaha of the Bullitt County Sheriff's Department said his agency got involved after the victim made comments to teachers and friends. Those comments were turned over to the state child protective services who then contact the sheriff's department.

McGaha said the allegations involving a family acquaintance dated back to July 2005 when the victim was less than 12 years of age.

The alleged acts continued through February 2008.

The allegations were taken to the Bullitt Grand Jury, which handed down the indictment last week.

As of Monday, an arrest warrant had been issued for Keith.
