SHEPHERDSVILLE – A man who used a cell phone to record sexual encounters with a juvenile girl will serve a 20-year prison sentence.
On Thursday, Bullitt Circuit Judge Rodney Burress sentenced Jeffrey Burke to 20 years in prison for sexual abuse of a minor.
According to the charges, Burke, 35, abused a girl for over two years. The sexual encounters started when the girl was 10 years of age.
Besides committing the acts, the defendant then recorded photos on his cell phone. Investigators had a thumb drive of the stored photos which would have been presented at trial.
Burke must complete the sexual offender treatment program and would be required to be part of the state sex offender registry.
Burke was arrested in September 2012 by the Shepherdsville Police Department, which investigated the case.
