SHEPHERDSVILLE - A man who was charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with a minor will serve the next 10 years in prison.
Timothy S. Shackleford Jr. was sentenced to 10 years on a single count of rape.
Five other charges were dismissed.
Bullitt Circuit Judge Rodney Burress said there was “no excuse” for a 26-year-old man to have sexual relations with a 12-year-old girl.
Defense attorney Josephine Buckner asked for probation since her client had no other criminal record and had accepted responsibility for his actions.
