Man, woman arrested after stealing SUV

MOUNT WASHINGTON--On Thursday evening, a female went to a predesignated location in Mt. Washington from an online virtual yard sale to sell a shirt.  While there, a male displayed a dark colored handgun and removed the woman by force and stole her 2005 Silver Chevy Trailblazer.

Dispatcher Boggs with Bullitt Central Dispatch began pinging the stolen iPhone in the vehicle alerting officers to possible locations. Around two hours later, it was pinged on a road near the Louisville Zoo.  A Bullitt County Deputy went to the location to observe for the vehicle. As he was driving thru the area, he observed LMPD out with an overturned vehicle and was able to ID the vehicle. It had not yet been entered into the national stolen database and LMPD was not aware it was stolen.

LMPD sent additional officers to University Hospital to secure the occupants of the vehicle. Bullitt County interviewed the suspects and received a confession from both the driver and passenger. Additionally they both separately admitted the male stashed the gun in some leaves at the accident scene on Bardstown Road which was later recovered by LMPD and the Bullitt County Sheriffs Office.

The female suspect had the stolen iPhone, credit cards, drivers license of the victim and a stolen Coach person with her at University Hospital. She also admitted dropping the male off and then meeting him a short time later.

Both currently deny this is related to the virtual yard sale and this is still under investigation.

Both will be charged with Robbery 1st degree in Bullitt County.
