SHEPHERDSVILLE - By the skin of its teeth, the Shepherdsville city budget passed.
A split vote by the city council was broken by Mayor Scott Ellis’ approval vote, putting the budget ordinance into place for the 2014-15 fiscal year beginning July 1.
The council hosted special budget workshop meetings in April with leaders of various city agencies to determine individual budgets. By the night of the second reading and vote, however, not all council members were pleased.
