SHEPHERDSVILLE - Before Sherman Tinnell took office as mayor, he said a goal would be to alter the city’s civil service ordinance.
Councilman Larry Hatfield voiced his same concern when he opted to run for the town board two years ago.
Now, it appears some changes are close to becoming reality.
The Shepherdsville City Council heard the first reading of an ordinance amending the current civil service ordinance.
City attorney Bill Wilson said the major change would be to allow the mayor to select his or her own department supervisors.
