SHEPHERDSVILLE - Just in time for the warm weather, a new Mexican restaurant has opened in Shepherdsville.
What’s better than margaritas and guacamole in the summer time?
Moi Soi, which directly translates to “My Sun,” is located at 142 Buffalo Run Road. It is owned and operated by Margarita Mongoya, her brother, Euriel Mongoya, and her sister-in-law, Janet Mongoya.
hey also have a main chef to help Euriel prepare the food.
Moi Soi offers lunch and dinner options, as well as happy hours during the week.
Since it is one of the few authentic Mexican restaurants in Bullitt County, Mongoya hopes as the year goes on, business will become even better.
“A lot of people who have come told us they liked it very much, so it has been a good experience so far,” she said. “We hope to advertise more and do even better.”
The Mongoya siblings lived in California for over 20 years after moving from Mexico.
Euriel had a friend in the Shepherdsville area, so he ventured out to Kentucky. Not long after, Margarita followed.
“I decided to visit and I liked the town,” she said. “I like it a lot here.”
Moi Soi offers specials such as two for one margaritas and happy hours every day of the week.
    The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
