More Heavy Rain on the Way...

Not sure about you all, but I am ready for some warm, dry and sunny weather.   Seems like over the past several weeks, we have seen our fair share of wet weather across the county.  This week also looks as if we will continue that trend with more heavy rain.

Latest forecast model runs this morning.. show another storm system developing across western section of the United States.  This system will get it's act together later this week and will move into Bullitt County starting Tuesday night.  This system has the potential to produce more heavy rain for the Kentuckiana region.. as rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches will be possible with this system.  To add more problems to the mix, some thunderstorms could develop along and out ahead of the main cold front Wednesday and some of these storms could approach severe limits in a few spots.   Main threat with these storms on Wednesday will be gusty winds, large hail and heavy rainfall.

Of a more concern.. will be the continued threat for flooding.   If you live near low line areas that are prone to flooding.. it would be a good idea to have a plan of action in place.. in the event water levels start to rise.

Once this system moves out of our area Wednesday night, we will slowly setttle into a dry spell.. but don't relax too much.  Another storm system will move into the state next week that could bring us more heavy rain.   Just what we needed to hear.

On a side note.. tomorrow starting at 10:07 AM EST.. our statewide tornado drill will be announced.  Outdoor warning sirens in Bullitt County will sound for a full 3 minute cycle.  This will be a good time for everyone to review their Tornado Safety plan and excerise that during this test.   Having a prepared plan in place BEFORE severe weather strikes could save your life.   Know what to do BEFORE a TORNADO WARNING is issued for your county.
