MOUNT WASHINGTON - For years the mayor’s office has had the power to grant pay raises to city employees based on merit.
In recent budgets the city council has set aside about $10,000 to be used at the discretion of the mayor for city employee merit pay increases.
During the April 26 regular council meeting, councilman Dale Walter proposed an ordinance that would limit the amount of merit pay increase the mayor could give to individual employees.
