MOUNT WASHINGTON - After closing Tiffany’s hair salon to spend time with her two young children, Tiffany Smith-Shirley is back on the business scene and she’s expanded her services to include photography.

In January, Tiffany and her husband, Bobby, opened Studio 5150 in Mount Washington, making it the only photography studio in the city and one of the few studios around with a hair and makeup salon in house.

Prior to opening Studio 5150, the Shirleys ran a photography business out of their home, but with limited space, twin toddlers running around and people coming and going, they began looking for a more appropriate location to operate their business.

Upon relocating to Bardstown Road they made space for a hair and makeup salon.

What makes Studio 5150 and Tiffany’s Hair Studio stand out is the undivided attention Tiffany, Bobby and stylist Katie Hileman give their clients.

Tiffany and her husband strive to make every photo shoot special, taking great measures to ensure their work is tailored to suit each customer’s needs.

“We take as long as it takes to get the perfect picture. It’s what our customers pay for,” she said.

They also take the time to get to know their clients so they can capture their personalities, not just their photographs.

Tiffany and Bobby also spend a great deal of time editing photos so they’re just right.

Photo packages are tailored to fit most every need or budget and they’re willing to work with their customers.

While Studio 5150 provides a wide variety of photography services, they specialize in portraits, including family, engagement, maternity, baby, senior and weddings.

Tiffany also does portraits for bachelorette parties, even boudoir photos, but she insists they be tasteful.

What’s more, with a hair and makeup stylist in house they can incorporate beauty services with most any photo package.

Photography began as a hobby for Tiffany. She has always had a passion for photography, but it wasn’t until about three years ago that she began taking pictures professionally.

With several photography classes under her wings she has plenty of expertise and it doesn’t hurt that Bobby is a graphic designer.

Tiffany grew up in Mount Washington and graduated from Bullitt East High School in 2001.

Tiffany and Bobby reside in Louisville with their twin sons Aiden and Owen.

Studio 5150 is located at 495 North Bardstown Road across from the BP service station.
