MOUNT WASHINGTON – Swimmers marooned on dry land could be returning to the pool as early as next week after city officials stepped in to help repair the facility.
A county budget crunch recently shuttered three of the county's four public pools. The Maryville pool in the north end has been open since early June.
County officials claimed repairs to bring the pools into federal safety compliance would be a drain on budget funds.
But if all goes as planned, Mount Washington's pool will soon be open for business.
