NB sweeps two from Whitefield

-A A +A

Basketball

HEBRON ESTATES - The North Bullitt Eagles and Lady Eagles both made it look easy on Friday as they played poor hosts to Whitefield Academy, sweeping both games with lopsided scores.

In the girls contest, this one was over early as the Lady Eagles raced out to a 24-8 lead after one quarter and then made it 53-9 by halftime. That had the clock running continuously in the second half and that held the scoring down considerably.

Senior Caitlin Montgomery paced North Bullitt with 14 points while junior Savannah Morrison scored 13 points.

The win moved coach Amber Courtney’s team to 9-6 for the season heading into a key 23rd District game on Friday when they play host to Bullitt Central. The Lady Eagles then have a game against Pleasure Ridge Park on Saturday when they play in the Shoot for the Cure event at PRP. That game is set for 2 p.m.

North Bullitt lead 22-19 after the first quarter and then held Whitefield to only four points over the next 16 minutes. North Bullitt scored just 18 points in the two quarters but that turned out to be a 14-point advantage.
