Many students love to take Pass/Fail courses. It takes a lot of hard work to fail a course.
However, in terms of the federal No Child Left Behind, a lot of hard work has been done only to have the Bullitt County Public School System - along with the vast majority in Kentucky - to be labeled a failure.
Educators know that the strides made in student learning over the past five-plus years - some of which stretch back a decade - has improved tremendously.
The problem is that the educators - like the students and schools - are blindly labeled as a group.
