In these tough economic times, any good news is gratifying for a community.

In recent months, Kentucky has proven to be quite successful in a variety of announcements relating to new businesses coming to the Commonwealth or existing businesses expanding their facilities.

Not to be left out, Shepherdsville and Bullitt County picked up a nice, new addition to its distribution roll.

While quietly coming into the community, Chegg.com has brought its very young, yet quickly growing, college textbook rental distribution site to the area.

Located in the old Linen-n-Things facility, the California-based textbook rental company will employ 109 full-time employees and over 1,200 part-time and seasonal workers.

The business has grown by over 600 percent in the past year and the proximity to UPS makes the distribution business a natural for the community.

While things are a little slower than normal, Bullitt Countians should welcome the addition of Chegg.com to the community.
