Next Hillview officials to see big pay increase

-A A +A
By Thomas Barr

HILLVIEW - City officials who are elected this fall in Hillview will receive a pay hike starting in January.

While the city council pay will be set, the compensation for the next mayor could be a floating number.

Instead of opting for a monthly pay scale for its mayor, the Hillview City Council voted 4-2, with JoAnn Wick and Karen Johnson in opposition, to a per diem pay.

The next mayor will be paid $125 per day worked. Under the ordinance, a weekly report must be filed and the mayor paid for the days worked.
