As soon as rumors hit the streets, Dolores Ashby knew she would be getting some calls.
In her 25 years of working at Nichols Elementary, Ashby had seen all the promises made to renovate the school. Many times, those promises were unfulfilled.
And she’s heard all the rumors about closing the school, which has about 150 students in K-5.
