With snow covering Bullitt County and snowfall covering 49 of 50 states, Kentuckians went into their usual mid-winter panic.
The Commonwealth was overshadowed, however, by events in Bullitt County, where its official groundhog, Nichols Nick, cheated death.
Scheduled to meet with new Bullitt County magistrates at a Fiscal Court meeting in January, Nick was sidetracked, going into hiding when he heard reports of a Chupacabra lurking around the Lebanon Junction area.
