SHEPHERDSVILLE - A firefighter received minor injuries after a ladder truck flipped over Monday afternoon.

Shepherdsville Fire Chief Layne Troutman said the truck was responding to a cardboard compactor fire at the Amazon/Zappos warehouse on Cedar Grove Rd.

According to Troutman, the truck was coming off the southbound Interstate 65 ramp, turning left onto Cedar Grove Rd. when it flipped.

Three firefighters were on the truck. Jessica Stone, a live-in firefighter originally with the Highview department, received an ankle injury.

The other firefighters were driver James Foster, a veteran firefighter with stints at both Shepherdsville and Zoneton Fire, and Andrew Worrell, a two-year veteran at Shepherdsville.

Neither firefighter was injured.

Troutman said another engine from Station 2 responded to the scene, where no major damages were reported.

The accident occurred around 5 p.m. Monday afternoon. Firefighters were collecting Crusade for Children donations at the time of the call.

Troutman said the truck, a 2001 HME Smeal firetruck, was being checked by an insurance company.

“It received an extreme amount of damage,” he said.

The incident remains under investigation.
