HILLVIEW - The Tumbleweed restaurant in Hillview hosted a special evening to raise funds for the Operation Santa program.
City council members and police units, along with Zoneton Fire and Hillview Emergency Response Team units, volunteered services to help the Tumbleweed waitstaff and assist customers with meals.
Tumbleweed donated 15 percent of the evening’s meal purchases toward Operation Santa.
Coupon fliers and a silent auction were also available for customers.
Music was supplied by members of local band Jefferson TARC Bus.
“The restaurant donated over $1,600 to the Operation Santa program thanks to the great turnout,” said Tumbleweed field marketer Ty Hall.
Operation Santa began over 20 years ago to assist local families in need at Christmastime. Last year over 400 families received gifts, necessity items and food baskets.
