MOUNT WASHINGTON – The Bullitt County girls did it two weeks ago and this Saturday it will be the boys turn to showcase local basketball as all three of the area programs will converge on Bullitt East for the Outback Steakhouse 5th/6th Challenge.

The first-year event is the brain child of Bullitt East head coach Troy Barr to highlight local basketball.

Fans can see all three of the local teams for one admission price against three teams from the Fifth Region. Actually, this year, the three opponents are from Hardin County.

The schedule on Saturday is as follows:

North Bullitt vs. John Hardin – 4:30 p.m.

Bullitt East vs. North Hardin – 6 p.m.

Bullitt Central vs. Central Hardin – 7:30 p.m.

All three of the visiting teams have impressive credentials entering play this week. As of Monday, John Hardin had a 10-3 record while North Hardin stood at 10-6 and Central Hardin at 9-4.

It is hoped that this will become a regular event for basketball fans to showcase the local teams.
