MOUNT WASHINGTON--A new restaurant is coming to Mount Washington. One that owner Ron May hopes will bring a “unique” flavor to the region.

Bullitt’s Pizza Restaurant and Pub is set for a grand opening the beginning of August. It will be located in the old Kettle Creek building along with two other businesses, he said.

A fairly new resident to the county, May said he wanted to “bring a high-quality of pizza” to Bullitt County by using top-grade fresh ingredients, but without the high price.

“I’ve traveled all over the world,” said the Mount Washington resident. “Pizza’s so popular but there’s so many varieties you can have to.”

Being a member of the American Culinary Federation, May said helps him to review food not just enjoy it.

Plans for the menu include Chicago and New York-style pizza as well as NY sub sandwiches. May said there will also be a salad and potatoe bar available.

“It will be a whole plethora of good food that you typically don’t find in an area with this population,” he said.

No stranger to business, May also owns the OTC Solutions pharmaceutical company and has done marketing for global companies in the electronics industry.

“I’ve been in marketing a long time, when this restaurant became available I thought it would be a great thing for Bullitt County,” he said.

May said his main focus is to do everything locally with the restaurant especially buying ingredients and other items to “support the area.” He encourages a local vendors who have product to sell to contact him.

Another essential component to Bullitt’s Pizza will be the décor. It will have a Jim Beam theme and will be the only stop on the Bourbon Trail between Clermont and Louisville.

“When you come in you’ll see a different look, you’re going to feel like you’re at Jim Beam there will be no mistaking it,” he said.

He also partnered with Knob Creek to have a special edition Bullitt’s Bourbon made for sale in house.

May said Fred Noe and Mike Beam will be present at the opening.

In the upcoming weeks the business will be seeking people to fill positions for kitchen staff. Contact May at ronmay13@hotmail.com for more information.
