Parade remains biggest event at LJ annual festival

  LEBANON JUNCTION - One of the biggest attractions of the Old Fashion Days festival on Oct. 5-6 is the annual parade.

The procession will start at the Pilot Travel Center off Preston Highway, travel S. Poplar Street to Thompson Avenue and  onto Brook Street before turning onto Main Street. 

Trophies will be awarded to the most outstanding parade entries in the following categories: best old fashion theme float, best float, best of show (non-motorized), best equestrian entry, best group, best antique vehicle, best customized car, best of show for cars, best of show for cycles, best customized truck and best of show for trucks. 

Those who wish to enter the parade may do so until 10 a.m. Saturday. 

Parade applications can be found at the Lebanon Junction City Hall, Peoples Bank of Bullitt County in Lebanon Junction or the Lebanon Junction branch of the Bullitt County Public Library system.

The fee to enter is $5. Prior registration is not required, but those who wish to participate must sign in at the starting area. Participants who wish to be with particular groups are asked to meet prior to checking in as entries will be lined up according to their arrival.
