SHEPHERDSVILLE - In a rare Democratic primary, two individuals of the same party will battle for the nomination for the position of jailer.
And the winner will face Republican Paul Watkins in the fall.
One Democrat is a long-time figure in the Bullitt County Detention Center. And she has held the position of jailer for the past four years.
The other is a long-time police officer in the city of Shepherdsville.
Incumbent Martha Weaver Knox and challenger Dan Patchin will be on the May 20 ballot.
