SHEPHERDSVILLE - The American Lung Association has the perfect remedy for golfers feeling the pinch of a tight economy. It’s the 2009 Kentucky Golf Tour Book (“Lung Book’) which offers reduced rates at over 400 courses, practice ranges and indoor facilities.

There are 181 courses in Kentucky alone, plus additional courses in Indiana, Tennessee and several other states.

All participating courses off the Lung Book holder discounts off one or more plays at each of their facilities. Some courses allow one round a month and more than 70 off unlimited rounds. All Kentucky State Parks are included in the program.

The Kentucky Golf Tour Book may be purchased for only $35 a piece or four for $105 - a buy 3, get one free ‘fabulous foursome special.’

The American Lung Association encourages golfers to play for life by purchasing one or more Golf Tour Books. According to Carolyn Embry, who coordinates the program, all proceeds from book sales go directly to the American Lung Association in support of the charity’s mission to save lives by preventing lung disease and improving lung health.

Revenue generated from the program helps fund important medical research, education, support groups for people with chronic lung ailments and advocacy.

“Lung disease doesn’t wait for the economy to improve,” said Embry, “so golfers can take heart from knowing that they are helping to save lives while they save on their game of golf.”

Kentucky Golf Tour Books may be ordered by calling the American Lung Association of Kentucky at 1-800-586-4872 or by sending a check to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 9067, Louisville, Kentucky 40209.

The books are also available at branches of AAA Kentucky in Louisville, Elizabethtown, Owensboro, Bowling Green and Paducah; and at select branches of National City Bank in the Louisville area.
