Plenty of holiday events in Bullitt

Our Views

Bullitt County will welcome the holiday season with open arms starting this weekend.

Hillview got an early start with a Winterfest celebration a couple of weeks ago.

On Friday, the city of Shepherdsville will host the Liberty Tax Christmas Parade and then mayor Scott Ellis will light up the city. The drive-thru display of lights in the city park is free to the public.

On Saturday, the cities of Mount Washington and Lebanon Junction will both light up the night.

These are just the larger-scale public displays.

Throughout the next three weeks, schools and churches will also have plenty of events planned.

Santa will be in high gear as he will visit dozens of places -- from school gyms to the American Legion Post.

Schools will host concerts and fund-raisers.

Churches will be the site of many Christmas musicals and dramas.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to help local efforts to aid families in need. From Operation Santa in Hillview to the Angel Tree program at Shepherdsville City Hall, there is no shortage of ways to help.

We hope you take a few moments and enjoy a Christmas event.
