On behalf of the Tax-Aide Program and the taxpayers we have helped, I would like to thank you for the use of the City Hall Annex. We have assisted over 250 taxpayers of all ages by preparing their tax returns and filing them electronically free of charge.
We have had nothing but positive comments about this location because of its size.. We were fortunate to have the use of the library for the past 8 years. Although, we had outgrown it, we had no idea where we could go to accommodate our growing needs. Fortunately for us, an act of God (the storm that caused a power failure at the library) led us to your City Hall and Administrative Assistant, Dawn Fick.
She was so helpful that day. She listened to our plight and went out of her
way to find us a place that had power, so we could assist the 30 taxpayers
that had gathered in front of the darkened library. Everyone was so grateful.
Dawn is such a nice reflection of the friendly, helpful staff that make up
Mt Washington City Hall. We hope she realizes that she really saved the day with her quick response to our needs. Thanks to her we were able to assist all the taxpayers that were there that day.
I also want to mention how helpful, Dale Salmon has been at the annex building. We wish to thank him for all he has done to assist us. We looked forward to his smiling face each Wednesday as he unlocked the door for us.
We have been fortunate over the years to have the use of several locations. The Mt Washington library hosted us for the last 8 years. Randy Matlow, Nancy Dearman and all the library staff were wonderful, so helpful and accommodating. But our program has expanded and our services are in greater demand with the economy as it is. We needed additional space and volunteers.
The City Hall Annex was a perfect fit for our growing needs.
As I told Butch Stovall, when I called your office to get approval for the use of the building past that emergency use day, we are very grateful that we were allowed to continue to use the building for the rest of the tax season.
We only hope that we may be allowed to return next year.
Thanks again to you and all your friendly, helpful staff.
