The Bullitt County Public School System will hold pre-registration for its preschool program on April 24.
All four-year-old children whose family income is no more than 150 percent of poverty (free or reduced lunch) or, for three-year-olds and four-year-old children with developmental or speech delays, regardless of income, are eligible.
The age cutoff is Oct. 1, 2013.
At the time of registration, each child will be screened in the following areas: cognitive, motor, language, social/emotional, self-help/adaptive.
Preschool is located in all elementary schools. Preschool classes are held in the morning and afternoon on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Transportation is provided.
The session in which your child will attend will be determined by the bus route and schedule.
Parents should take their children to the elementary school in their district, with the exception of Nichols, which should sign up at Shepherdsville Elementary.
Bring a birth certificate, food stamp card/proof of income, Social Security number (requested but not required), Kentucky certificate of immunization, health care examination and lunch application.
The child must have an eye examination by Jan. 1, 2014.
