Public immunization set for Dec. 3

SHEPHERDSVILLE - The Bullitt County Health Department will provide novel H1N1 influenza vaccine Thursday, Dec. 3, from 4-8 p.m. at Paroquet Springs Conference Centre.

This clinic will follow the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations and administer vaccine to the following target groups:

* Pregnant women

* Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age

* Health care and emergency medical services personnel

* All children and young adults age 6 months through 24 years, especially those with chronic conditions

* People age 25-64 years of age with chronic health conditions

Please wear a short-sleeved shirt for your convenience. All children must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian. Legal guardians must have custody paperwork.

About 300 school-aged children attended the first of three inoculation clinics on Tuesday at Bullitt Central.

Clinics for school children will be held at North Bullitt High on Tuesday, Dec. 1, and at Bullitt East High on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Those clinics will run from 5-8 p.m.
