SHEPHERDSVILLE --  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will host a public meeting regarding proposed improvements to the existing Interstate 65 interchange at KY 480 in Shepherdsville and designs for a new interchange south of KY 480 in Bullitt County.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening, June 2, at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre, 395 Paroquet Springs Drive, Shepherdsville.

The meeting will be an open house format where citizens can stop by anytime between 5-7 p.m.

The meeting’s purpose is to gain public input on two alternates for reconstruction of the I-65/KY 480 interchange (Exit 116). This project will improve access to existing and committed businesses in the Cedar Grove Business Park and surround area.

The public will also be provided the opportunity to comment on proposals for a new interchange on I-65 near mile point 114, south of KY 480.

The new interchange and its east-west crossroad would connect KY 61 west of I-65 and Ohm Drive and Alpha Way east of I-65. This project will improve access for the growing commercial development in the area.

Handouts containing information about both projects and comment sheets will be available at the meeting.

Representatives from KYTC and their design consultant will be in attendance to answer questions from residents and roadway users.

Written comments will be accepted during the meeting and up to 15 days after the meeting at the District 5 Office in Louisville.

The input received will be considered by the project team when making project decisions.
