SALEM, Ind. – The Papa John’s Firecracker 200 was halted by rain on Sunday evening at Salem Speedway and will be resumed one week later.
Will Kimmel of Sellersburg, Ind., was leading the race when the red flag was displayed on lap 53 due to lightning in the immediate area. Heavy rains started shortly after the race was stopped and the decision was then made to reschedule the remainder of the event.
