Many times in my life I have failed to stop what I was doing long enough to tell someone thanks for a job well done. Today I am putting things aside to stop and commend Doris Owen not only for her many years of service as Administrative Assistant to the former directors of E.D.A. She worked for many years and reached the point of wishing to retire. Later when Mr. Faust resigned the Board requested Doris to consider coming back to work which she was kind enough to do.

Working with the former Directors of E.D.A. they turned pastures for livestock into busting business centers in Shepherdsville, northern Bullitt and Mount Washington creating additional jobs, tax revenue for not only the county but also the cities. And further made monetary gifts and donated equipment to the Bullitt County History Museum and other worthy causes to improve the lifestyle for the residents of Bullitt County.

As I recall, she was also charter member of Mount Washington Historical Society and Bullitt County Genealogical Society and wrote several books on our grave yards. Last but not least she was never too busy to stop and bake wonderful jam cakes to donate for auctions to raise funds for worthy cause.

Doris, you are a wonderful example of not only a dedicated employee but citizen as well! Thanks again for everything you have done for our community.
