Rescue at Jim Beam

CLERMONT - Firefighters rescued a construction worker near the Jim Beam Distillery Wednesday afternoon.

Southeast Bullitt Fire Chief Julius Hatfield said firefighters dug the worker out from underneath a collapsed wall near a creek on the Jim Beam property.

The location of the incident was in a valley off of Highway 245. The area is near the site of a future Jim Beam visitors center.

A dozen Southeast Bullitt firefighters responded along with Bullitt County EMS units.

The construction workers was transported from the scene via Stat Care helicopter. Hatfield said the worker did not receive life-threatening injuries and was conscious at the scene.

Southeast Bullitt was dispatched at 12:12 p.m., according to Hatfield.
