Restoring Woodsdale

 The Girl Scouts of South Bullitt Troop 1487 brought beauty to the Woodsdale Schoolhouse on Saturday, September 1st, 2012 as a community service project.

The project was board approved with the Bullitt County Board of Education.  

Troop 1487 contains of (5) 7th graders, from Hebron Middle and Zoneton Middle School.  Allison Daugherty, Abigail Hardy, Josee’ Meredith, Elizabeth Hines and Kayla Vandiver are Cadettes with the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana.  

Troop Leaders, Krissy Giles and Sharla Daugherty are so proud of their hard work to make the schoolhouse more appealing to the community of Bullitt County.

Woodsdale Schoolhouse was built in 1808 and represents 145 years of continuous teaching.  It was restored and moved in 1985 to its present location beside the Bullitt County Board of Education.

The new porch and paint was provided by the Bullitt County Board of Education Maintenance Department.  

Troop 1487 would like to thank Lowes Home Improvement in Hillview for their $50.00 donation, Walmart in Hillview for their $25.00 donation, Mr. Gatti’s in Shepherdsville for providing lunch, Shepherdsville Fire Department for providing water, Universal Woods for providing plaques for the desks, Mulch Co. of Kentucky in Hillview, Lowes Home Improvement in Shepherdsville for their $25.00 donation, Tony Yaeger, BCPS, Pictures and Project Advisor John Roberts, BCPS and all the parents and family that volunteer their time.
