ROADSHOW for the week beginning August 12, 2013
Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory
nature and is subject to change with no notice.
Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, andmaintenance crews may
work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night.
Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and
highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.
Southbound Interstate 65: The exit ramp to St. Catherine Street (Exit 135) is closed for bridge pier cap
replacement. This ramp closurewill continue through the end of September. A signed detour is in place via I-65
South to Arthur Street. From there motorists will be directed to East Brandeis Avenue and South Brook Street
where they can access St. Catherine Street.
Interstate 265(Gene Snyder Freeway): Lane closures and delays possiblein both directions between KY 146
(LaGrange Road) and Westport Road (mile points 30.3 and 32.5) due to concrete pavement repairsand roadway
striping. The roadway may be reduced to one lane in each direction on weeknights Monday –Friday from 8:00
p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morningand on weekends from 8:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
Interstate 264(Watterson Expressway): Lane closures and delays possible between Browns Lane and Westport
Road (mile points 18.4 and 20.7) due to concrete pavement repairs. Lane and ramp closures are possible
weeknights from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning and on weekends from 8:00 p.m. on Friday until
6:00 a.m. on Monday. Shoulder closures are possible during the day due to ditch line repairs.
US 31E (Bardstown Road): Lane closures and delays possible between Brentlinger Lane and the I-265
interchange (mile points 4.3 and 5.0) due to roadway widening. Lane closures are possible weeknights Monday –
Thursday from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane closures are possible from 8:00
p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday. The speed limit isreduced in the work zone.
US 42: Lane closures and delays possible betweenUS 31E and the Drescher Bridge (mile points 0.0 and 1.2) and
between EwingAvenue and Chenoweth Lane(mile points 1.8and 3.8) due to roadway milling, resurfacingand
striping. Lane closures are possible weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
US 60 (Frankfort Avenue): Lane closures and delays possible between Chenoweth Lane and Ewing Avenue(mile
points 1.1and 3.5)due to manhole coveradjustments. Lane closures will occur on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until
KY 22: Shoulder closures and delays possible near New Chamberlain Lane (mile point 4.0)due to corrective work
on the sidewalks.
KY 155 (Taylorsville Road): Lane closures and delays possible at Old Heady Road (mile point 7.5) due to traffic
signal installation. Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
KY 1531 (Routt Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the Jefferson/Bullitt County line and KY 155
(mile points 0.0 and 5.6) due to roadway drainage improvements. Lane closures are possible weekdays from 8:00
a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway): Lane closures anddelays possible between Bluegrass Parkway and Linn
Station Road (mile points 11.6 and12.2) due to the interchange improvement project. Lane closures are possible
nightlyfrom 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.the following morning. Lane closureswill be in place on southbound
Hurstbourne Parkway from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19 due to roadway
KY 2048 (Cannons Lane): Laneclosures and delays possible between Interstate 64 and US 60 (mile points 1.3
and 2.7) due to manhole cover adjustmentsnear Seneca Park. Lane closures are possible weekdays from 8:30
a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
KY 2845 (Manslick Road): Lane closures and delays possible between Preston Highway and Beulah Church Road
(mile points 0.0 and 3.7) due to utility adjustments and approach work. Lane closures are possible weekdays from
8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
KY 2860 (Grinstead Drive): Laneclosures are possible between Bardstown Road (US 31E) and Cherokee
Parkway (US 60A), mile points 0.0 and 0.98) due tosidewalk ramp installation. Lane closures possible daily from
9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
KY 434(MainStreet): Lane closures and delays possiblebetween Church Street and Wall Street (mile points 1.52
and 1.69) in Lebanon Junction due to culvert replacement.
US 127: Lane closures and delays possible between mile points 11.0 and 11.8 due to roadway striping.
US 42: Lane closures possiblebetween the Oldham/Henry county line and the Henry/Trimble county line (mile
points 0.0 and 1.1) due to installation of edge-line rumble strips and roadway striping.
Interstate 64: Heavy delays possible near Exit 32 due to setting bridge beams.Crews will need to use rolling road
blocks that will slow and possibly stop traffic for approximately 15 minutes at intervals throughout the evening.
Traffic on both eastbound and westbound I-64 will be affected on Monday, August 12. Rolling road blocks will only
be used in the eastbound lanes on Tuesday, August 13. This work will take place from 10:00 p.m. each evening
until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.
KY 55: Lane closures and delays between Breighton Boulevard and Old Brunerstown Road(mile points 5.8 and
6.6) due to roadway widening and paving. Lane closures will also be necessary on KY 55 at the bridge over I-64 on
Monday evening, August 12 and Tuesday evening, August 13. Motorists should watch for construction staff that will
use flagging methods to direct them through the work zone.
KY 1399: Lane closures anddelays possible at the intersection with KY 1848 (mile point 2.4) due to roadway
KY 1848: Shoulderclosuresand construction delays possible at the I-64 interchange (mile points 4.6 to 6.4)due to
roadway widening. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. The speed limit isreduced to 35 MPH in
the work zone.
KY 55: Lane closures are possibleon the bridge over the Salt River (mile point 6.2) due to bridge inspection.
These lane closures are scheduled for Tuesday, August 13 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
KY 1060 (Plum Creek Road): Access from this road to Featherbed Hollow Road will be closed due to bridge
inspection. This closure and the full closure of Featherbed Hollow Road are scheduled for Tuesday, August 20 from
9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
US 42: Lane closures expected between the Henry/Trimble county line and KY 3175(mile points 0.0 and 6.5) due
to installation of edge-line rumble strips and roadway striping.
US 421: Construction delays possible nearthe bridge over the Ohio River (mile points 18.7 to 19.2). The Milton-
Madison Bridge isposted for a 15-ton weight limit. Vehicles in excess of 36 feet in length are also restricted due to
the limited turn radius of the temporary ramps.
