ROADSHOW for the week beginning February 24, 2014

Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory 

nature and is subject to change with no notice. 

Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may 

work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night.  

Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and 

highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis. 

Jefferson County:

Westbound Interstate 64:  Shoulder closures and delays possible just west of Hurstbourne Parkway between mile 

points 14.7 and 14.3) due to sound barrier construction. 

Eastbound Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway): Shoulder closures and delays possible between 

Breckenridge Lane and the ramp to eastbound Interstate 64due to sound barrier construction. 

Eastbound Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway):  Shoulder closures and delays possible between the 

Cinderella Lane overpass and the Smyrna Parkway interchange (mile points 12.8 and 13.5) due to sound barrier 

construction.  

Bullitt County:

KY 61:  Lane closures and construction delays possible from Hillbrook Drive to just north of John Harper Highway 

(mile point 17.8 to 19.3) due to tree clearing for roadway widening and realignment. 

FranklinCounty:

US 60: Roadway will be closed in section known as “Louisville Road Hill” between Lafayette Drive and Taylor 

Avenue (mile points 7.2 to 7.9) due to overhead lighting maintenance.  This closure is scheduled for Thursday, 

February 27from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Motorists can detour this area via Lafayette Drive and Shelby Street or 

by Taylor Avenue.  

US 127: Lane closures and delays possible between W. Broadwayand Holmes Street (mile points 8.6to 10.5) due 

to storm drain cleaning. 

Henry County:

Interstate 71:  Lane closures and delays possible at the US 421 overpass (mile point 33.3) due to bridge joint 

repairs on the structure over the interstate. 

US 421:  Roadway is reduced to one lane at the bridge over Interstate 71 (mile point 24.1) due to bridge joint 

repairs.  Temporary signals are installed at each end of the work zone to control traffic.  

Oldham County:

Southbound Interstate 71:  Left shoulder possible at mile point 21 due to tree clearing for new bridge construction. 

KY 2857 (New Moody Lane): Shoulder closures and delays possible near Meadowbrook Drive (mile point 1.1) due 

to tree clearing for new bridge construction. 

  

Shelby County:

Interstate 64:  Lane closures and delays possiblefrom the Welcome Center to 1⁄2 mile east of KY 55 (mile points 

27.9 to 32.8) due to roadway widening.  Lane closures are always possible Sunday -Friday from 7:00 p.m. each 

evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning and on Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following 

morning.  A 12-foot width restriction is in place for the eastboundlanes of I-64 in this work zone.  

KY 1848: Shoulderclosuresand construction delays possible at the I-64 interchange (mile points 4.6 to 6.4)due to 

roadway widening.  One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.  The speed limit isreduced to 35 MPH in 

the work zone. 

 

Spencer County:

KY 44: Lane closures and construction delays possible between Oak Tree Way and KY 1633 (mile points 7.6 to 

8.4) due to tree clearing for roadway realignment. 

TrimbleCounty:

US 421: Construction delays possible nearthe bridge over the Ohio River (mile points 18.7 to 19.2)due to bridge 

construction.  The Milton-Madison Bridge isposted for a 15-ton weight limit.  Vehicles in excess of 36 feet in length 

are also restricted due to the limited turn radius of the temporary ramps.
