ROADSHOW for the week beginning Oct. 14, 2013

 Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory 

nature and is subject to change with no notice. 

Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may 

work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night.  

Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and 

highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis. 

Jefferson County:

Eastbound Interstate 64:  Lane closures and delays expected on the exit ramp to South Hurstbourne Parkway and 

Bluegrass Parkway (Exit 15A) due to interchange project improvements.  The ramp will remain open, but lane 

closures will be in place 24 hours/day for approximately one week.  Motorists are advised to consider utilizing Exit 

15B to access South Hurstbourne Parkway. 

Southbound Interstate 65: The exit rampto St. Catherine Street (Exit 135) isclosed for continued bridge pier cap 

replacement.  This ramp closure will be in place until late October.  A signed detour isin place via I-65 South to 

Arthur Street.  From there motorists will be directed to East Brandeis Avenue and South Brook Street where they 

can access St. Catherine Street. 

Southbound Interstate 65:  The exit ramp to westbound KY 1065 (Outer Loop) will be closed to allow for 

installation of a high friction surface course and sign upgrades.  In addition, the ramp from westbound KY 1065 to 

Minors Lane will be closed during this work.  These ramps will be closed from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11until 

5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14.  Motorists should follow the signed detours for both of these locations. 

KY 841 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between the Greyling Road 

overpass and Interstate 65 (mile points 4.1 to 9.6) due to concrete pavement repairs.  Lane closures are scheduled 

from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14. 

US 31E (Bardstown Road):  Laneclosures and delays possible between Hikes Lane and Gardiner Lane (mile 

points 10.9 and 12.1) due to roadway striping.  Lane closures are possible weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. 

the following morning.  Shoulder closures are possible weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for sidewalk ramp 

repairs.  The right turn lane from southbound US 31E to Hikes Lane will be closed from 9:00 a.m. on Monday, 

October 14 until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15 due curb and gutter repairs. 

US 60 (Shelbyville Road): Lane closures and delays possible between Long Run Road and the Jefferson/Shelby 

County line (mile points 15.7 to 17.3) due to roadwayresurfacingand rumble stripinstallation.  

US 31E (Bardstown Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between Brentlinger Lane and the I-265 

interchange (mile points 4.3 and 5.0) due to roadway widening.  Lane closures are possible weeknights Monday – 

Thursday from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, lane closures are possible from 8:00 

p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.  The speed limit isreduced in the work zone. 

KY 155 (Taylorsville Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between the Jefferson/Spencer County line and 

KY 148 (mile points 0.0 to 4.2) due to roadway resurfacing.  Lane closures are possible weeknights from 6:00 p.m. 

until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. 

KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway): Lane closures anddelays possible between Bluegrass Parkway and Linn 

Station Road (mile points 11.6 and12.2) due to the interchange improvement project. Lane closures are possible 

weeknightsfrom 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.the following morning. 

KY 1932 (Breckenridge Lane): Lane closures and delays possible between Bardstown Road and Interstate 264 

(mile points 0.0 to 3.4) due to roadway milling and resurfacing.  Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. 

until 3:00 p.m. and evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. 

 

Bullitt County:

KY 61:  Traffic delays possible between KY 2553 and KY 6303 (mile points 20.0 to 21.6) due to installation of 

rumble strips.  Contract crews will be using rolling road blocks for this work on Saturday, October 12 from 8:00 a.m. 

until 3:00 p.m. 

FranklinCounty:

Interstate 64:  Lane closures and delays possible at the bridges over the Kentucky River (mile point 55.4) due to 

bridge inspection.  Lane closures are possible daily from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Inspection on eastbound I-64 will 

continue Monday, October 14 through Wednesday, October 16.  Inspection on westbound I-64 is scheduled for 

weekdays beginning Thursday, October 17 through Friday, October 25. 

Interstate 64:Lane closures and delays possible in both directions at the KY 151 overpass (mile point 47.7) and 

westbound at the Evergreen Road overpass (mile point 49.8)due to bridge deck repairs.  Lane closures possible 

Sunday –Thursday from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 7:00 a.m. the following morning.  No lane closures will be 

allowed on Friday and Saturday nights.  The speed limit will be reduced to 55 MPH in the work zone. 

KY 420:  Lane closures and delays possible between US 127 and KY 676 (mile points 0.0 and 2.1) due toshoulder 

widening, guardrail installation and resurfacing.  The roadway will be reduced to one lane and contract crews will 

flag motorists through the work zone. 

Henry County:

KY 157 (Sulphur Road):  Lane closures and delays possible between the two intersections with KY 1606 (mile 

points 2.1 to 2.4) due to roadway resurfacing.  

KY 712 (Old Jericho Road): Lane closures and delays possible  between the Henry/Oldham County line and KY 

153 (mile points 0.0 to 2.1) due to roadway resurfacing.  

KY 1606 (Fallen Timber Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the railroad crossing and 1.2 miles 

northeast of KY 157 (mile points 5.9 to 7.2) due to roadway resurfacing. 

KY 3323 (Jackson Road):  Lane closures and delays possible from from 1/3 mile south of Sand Springs Road to 

KY 1861 (mile points 2.7 to 3.8)due to pavement repairs.   

Oldham County:

US 42:  Lane closures and delays between KY 1694 and the Oldham/Henry County line (mile points 6.0 to 19.4) due 

to installation of centerline rumble strips. 

KY 146:  Lane closures and delays possible between KY 22 and KY 393 (mile points 2.4 and 7.6) due to roadway 

striping.  Lane closures are possible weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 

6:00 a.m. the following morning. 

KY 329 (Covered Bridge Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the Jefferson/Oldham County line 

and the bridge over Harrods Creek (mile points 0.0 to 1.4) due to roadway striping.  Lane closures are possible 

weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning and all day on weekends.  

 

Shelby County:

Westbound Interstate 64:Lane closures and delays possible at bridge over Bardstown Trail (mile point 45.5) due 

to bridge deck repairs.  Lane closures possible Sunday –Thursday from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 7:00 a.m. the 

following morning.  No lane closures will be allowed on Friday and Saturday nights.  The speed limit will be reduced 

to 55 MPH in the work zone. 

Interstate 64:  Lane closures and delays possiblefrom the Welcome Center to 1⁄2 mile east of KY 55 (mile points 

27.9 to 32.8) due to roadway widening.  Lane closures arealwayspossible Sunday - Friday from 7:00 p.m. each 

evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning and on Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following 

morning. A 12-foot width restriction is in place for the westbound lanes of I-64 in this work zone. 

KY 1848: Shoulderclosuresand construction delays possible at the I-64 interchange (mile points 4.6 to 6.4)due to 

roadway widening.  One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.  The speed limit isreduced to 35 MPH in 

the work zone. 

Spencer County:

Routine maintenance 

TrimbleCounty:

US 421: Construction delays possible nearthe bridge over the Ohio River (mile points 18.7 to 19.2)due to bridge 

construction.  The Milton-Madison Bridge isposted for a 15-ton weight limit.  Vehicles in excess of 36 feet in length 

are also restricted due to the limited turn radius of the temporary ramps.
