SALEM, IN – The first official 2012 Salem Speedway on-track action is set to unfold on Saturday afternoon with a three-hour practice period.
The short-track test and tune session is open to the O’Reilly Auto Parts Pure Stocks and Portland Recycling Front Wheel Drive Stocks and any other racing divisions scheduled to compete on the infield quarter-mile oval during the 2012 season.
Pit gates open at 10 a.m., with practice from noon to 3 p.m.
Spectators are invited to view the activities from the grandstand area at no charge. Pit passes are $20 each.
A pre-season practice session for teams competing on the half-mile oval is scheduled for Saturday, April 7th.
Portland Recycling signs on as title sponsor of the Salem Speedway front wheel drive division
Portland Recycling, located at 1612 Portland Ave. in Louisville, will serve as title sponsor of the Salem Speedway Front Wheel Drive division for the 2012 season reports track management.
“We are certainly pleased to once again work with Portland Recycling in a marketing partnership, said Salem Speedway general manager Richard Deaton. “Portland Recycling is a family owned and operated business that has supported Kentuckiana area racing for many years.”
Portland Recycling has long been known for the competitive prices paid for aluminum, non-ferrous metals, brass, lead, copper and other scrap material.
Portland Recycling is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
