Mount Washington’s Salt River Lodge 180 F&AM recently recognized three outstanding Bullitt East High School graduates during a special ceremony held at the Masonic lodge.
During the ceremony, McKinze Vowels, 17, Brandon Crisp, 18, and Amanda Therrian, 17, were announced the 2012 recipients of the Walter Thomas Knapp Memorial Scholarship.
Each received a commemorative plaque and a $500 scholarship to be applied toward the college they will be attending this fall.
Vowels will attend Western Kentucky University, where she plans to study psychology. Crisp is headed for the University of Louisville to major in political science. Therrian, who will also attend UofL, plans to study English.
The Walter Thomas Knapp Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually and is made possible by the fundraising efforts of the Salt River Lodge.
